i like her face in the first one. it makes me laugh :) i also like the background of the first one, it's an interesting take on the "plain white background" we see in most portraits.
The bottom one is cool, it kinda makes me wonder (with the crop as it is) is this a boy or girl? I really like the detail you got in the eyes and on the face, beautiful pic!
I really love the last one. It's so clear and the eyes are piercing. Beautiful freckles by the way :) I love your crazy friend as well, silly photos are can be pretty sweet. Maybe in the second one you could try a little bit more contrast?
love your eyes!!!! The details of the lights/reflections in the eyes are very impressive. I think the cropping is fine. I like the how you just show a part of your face, but I guess if you can crop out the bottom left part of this photo (the lips), the eyes will stand out even more! nice work!
I know the girl in the first picture! :) She was in my TE 150 class! :)
Anyways, I really like how all three of these came out. The middle one is close to being my favorite because the play on blur and sharpness, but in the last photo the eyes really stand out and are detailed beautifully! I agree, the crop is a tad bit awkward, but if the crop was lowered slightly, it would help to balance that out. :)
As always, your compositions are great :) I like your self-portraits (both of them) I don't know which one I like better, because the middle one I like the fact that there's blur in the laterals but with sharp bright eye. While the bottom one, the cropping works for me and the eyes were so bright that the camera is reflected on them.
the second one looks inquisitive. the third one has great detail in the eyes. i tried a square crop, but it totally changed the expression. i would have to see the original to know if you should go down more. although i do like the first one, the other two seem to draw me in because of the complexity of their expressions.
My favorite is the middle. I love how the person is cropped and I like the mysterious shadows in the piece. When you capture eyes, they look so perfect!

ReplyDeleteI really enjoy the last one, there's so much emotion in the eyes, and the reflection in them looks really cool.

The depth of field is great in the second one.

ReplyDelete1. Maybe crop a little more off of the left…great shot though
ReplyDelete2. Loving the shallow depth of field…and the fact that the eye is what draws all attention
3. Epic
I like the emotion caught in the first image, and how simple the background is so it doesn't take the focus off of the subject.
ReplyDeleteYou did a great job at experimenting with the aperture in your self portraits. I love how clear your eyes are in the last one.
